Opening iPhoto Mel included a significant amount of testing. Testing photography printers, papers, photo finishes, and the quality of the photos themselves. Given that iPhoto Mel is based on the niche of using solely an iPhone for high quality prints, some prints did not have the capacity to print larger than the standard 4x4 size. The final decision resulted in the most beautiful prints on Fuji Crystal Archival paper. Standard photos are printed with a pearl finish which creates a metallic effect darkening the darks and bringing a truly vibrant result.

The testing process created quite an eclectic array of prints with matte finish and those that look beautiful as a 4x4 but do not have the capacity to extend to a larger size.
